Elden Clyde passed away at home in Taylorsville, Utah on December 1, 2019 at the age of 83. He was born in Springville, Utah on May 4, 1936 to Elden A. and Madeline (Houser) Clyde. Elden graduated from Springville High School in 1954. He served in the United States Navy from 1954-1958. Active in the LDS church, he served in the office of a Seventy. As a member of the Masons, he earned the title of Worshipful Master at the Twin Peaks Lodge, Midvale, Utah in 1968. Elden had a love of airplanes and flight. He had a single-engine pilot’s license for a number of years. Elden worked as a Quality Control Engineer across multiple companies.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Margene (Willis) Woodard; his former wives Colleen Mason (Div.) and Nance Thomas (Div.).
Elden is survived by his wife of 48 years, Anne Maurine Clyde; his brother Dick Ray (Shirley) Clyde; his children Carolyn (Russ) Hanson, Carla (Craig) Stevens, Catherine Annette Clyde, Meri Anne (Matthew) Schow, Boni (Brett) Ferree, and Douglas Tyler Clyde; step-sons James (Lisa) Dunton and Robert Dunton;11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 6, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at Stonewood Ward, 6030 West Prairie View Drive, Taylorsville, Utah. Viewings will be held Thursday, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and again prior to services at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
