Georgia Lee Edgington of Midvale, Utah | 01/17/2019

Georgia Lee White Edgington born February 7, 1943, in the old St. Mark’s Hospital on Beck St. in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born to Franklin Veo White Jr. and Helen Isabell Worthen White (both deceased).

Georgia was the youngest of four children; brothers Edmond Veo White (deceased), Robert Lee (Bob) White (Marsha), Delbert Kenneth (Kenny) White (deceased).

She graduated from South High School in 1961, and attended two junior high‘s and two elementary schools. Georgia married Michael John Edgington (Mike) November 24, 1961 in South Salt Lake. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple, with their son Jason, on October 8, 1965.

Georgia is the mother of four sons who she loves dearly: Jason (Roslyn), Duane (Sherilynn), Bradley (Kristy) and Bryant (Lindy).

She has 12 very special grandchildren; six grandsons: Stuart, Stephen, Spencer, Justin, Tanner and Josh; six grand daughters: Cassidy (Hunter) Goodenough, Brooke (Caleb) Thomson, Caitlyn (Alex) Erickson, Kylie, Emmy, and Isabelle (Izzy).

Georgia worked in the Jordan River Temple for nine years in the baptistry and always looked forward to going to the temple. She was active in the LDS church holding many positions. Georgia also worked for 28 years at Midvale Elementary School and taught kindergarten in the Title One program and Chapter One, and also was an instructional aid in resource.

Georgia enjoyed scrapbooking, and made many, all with much love, for grandchildren, sons, Mike and many more. Georgia enjoyed her collection of salt and pepper shakers. She has all 50 states and too many countries to name, as well as sports, food, animals, three different pets and Georgia’s favorite drink-Diet Coke.

Georgia is survived by her loving husband Mike; all her sons; her brother Bob; and sister-in-law Marsha; many nieces and nephews; and Barr & Nancy Edgington. Nancy is like a sister to her. Nancy and Georgia love playing hand and foot, beating Mike and Barr about the last six times they played.

A special thanks to her doctors; Dr. L. Brown and Charles Elliot at the Heart and Lung Specialty Unit of Intermountain Hospital. Thanks to her special nurse Deedre, and all the others. Georgia was diagnosed 7 1/2 years ago with pulmonary arterial hypertension, and went to cardiac and pulmonary rehab for six years. Special thanks to her good friend Judy, Mike and Jeff and many others including her family doctor, Dr. David Jack.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 20th, from 5-7:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Midvale East Second Ward at 7250 South 300 East Midvale.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 21st, 11:00 a.m., also at Midvale East Second Ward. There will be a viewing from 9:30-10:45 prior to the funeral. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
