Hope Naomi Iverson Simar of Taylorsville, Utah | 12/22/2018

Hope passed away peacefully on December 22, 2018 to reunite with her loving husband Ray. She was 100 years, 1 month and 1 day old. She was born on November 21, 1918 to Josephine and Emanuel Iverson in Ogden, Utah. She was the oldest of 7 children. She married Raphael Simar on February 21, 1947 in Santa Barbara, CA. Most of her life was devoted to raising their 6 children and managing their household. After her husband passed she had many jobs working in the clerical profession. She was a devote member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was an outstanding role model for her children and everyone she came in contact with.

She is survived by 4 children, Barbara (Bill) Hull, Linda McStotts, Ron (Marty) Simar, Annette (Ron) Alsop; as well as 12 grandchildren; 25 great- grandchildren. Her surviving siblings include Reed Iverson, Gloria Mechling, and Beverly Bush. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray; daughter Rose Patterson; son-in-law Ray Patterson; son-in-law Don McStotts; son David Simar; daughter-in-law Cheryise; and 3 of her siblings.

Her family would like to thank the CNS Hospice team, especially Wendy, for the excellent care that was provided. They would also like to thank her loving family at Golden Living Center.

A viewing will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 6-8 pm at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 So. Redwood Rd., SLC. The funeral will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 1 pm at the Paradise Ward house, 1555 West Lovely Road (5095 S), with a viewing at 12 noon Interment will be at Redwood Memorial Estates.
