Where to Celebrate A Birthday in Your 30s

The Trestle Inn

It can be hard to just stumble across this Loft District corner bar, but it’s worth the trip. From famed whiskey sours to go-go dancers, this place is known for serving up a specific throwback vibe. On the weekends, expect energetic music to get the crowd moving.

Bottle Bar East

If beer is your drink of choice, then this is a highly recommended place to celebrate. It’s a low-key place with TVs and a jukebox with quality drinks and food. They often hold quizzo events if you want to add some entertainment to your party. Feel free to invite non-beer-lovers because their seasonal cocktail menu is great, too.

Evil Genius Tasting Room

The outdoor beer garden is perfect for all spring and summer birthdays. (You can bring your pups!) Head indoors to the 6,000 sq. ft. brewery if you’re celebrating in the cooler months. Either way, enjoy EG Lab-exclusive beers and a simple food selection of dips, tacos, and sandwiches.

Pub & Kitchen

For quality classics, it’s a safe bet to come here. Moscow mules, old fashioneds, negronis, you name it… they’ve nailed it, along with a solid wine list. As for food, get the popular burger with shoestring fries, cheese board, or local sea scallops. Upstairs, there’s a gorgeous space for private events with no rental fee and moderately-priced packages.

Lloyd Whiskey Bar

Here, they know how to make some stiff drinks. From polished cocktails to varying whiskey-based City Wide Specials, there’s something for everyone. Don’t sleep on their comfort food menu either. Try the mac and cheese, chicken and cheddar waffles, or Wagyu beef patty melt.

Mission Taqueria

Skip weekday happy hour if you want to avoid crowds. The restaurant instantly begins to clear for dinner service, which is still affordable. Come for Taco Tuesday (where it’s a free marg for every order of three tacos) or one of their cool chef collab pop-ups.

SOMO SoPhi

This South Philly restaurant is one of the rare bottomless brunch places (only $28). Pair the deal with biscuits and gravy, avocado toast, or the breakfast burger. You can also visit their original Manayunk location and include a stroll down Main Street or the Canal Towpath.
